Information Security Engineer

The Information Security Engineer will support the hardware/software/network technologies production environment by pro-actively monitoring and quickly responding to cyber security tool related incidents for one or more technologies within the Security Tools environment.

Frequently collaborate with vendor/contractor partners to develop and implement detailed analysis, validation and resolution strategies/solutions to resolve issues/incidents while remaining focused on security, up-time, and performance.

The Information Security Engineer will be responsible for effectively planning, designing, implementing and monitoring security technologies and projects that support the firms’ underlying security policies and procedures. The position will utilize highly technical skills to ensure that security policies, standards and best practices are followed throughout the technology organization-including where vendors are utilized to provide services.

Key Responsibilities

  • This position’s key responsibilities are focused on systems engineering on CBP (Carbon Black Protection) and SEP (Symantec Cloud) platform tools administration. In addition to day-to-day tool system administration, the resource will prepare and execute system changes, investigate and resolve break-fix issues, design and implement policy changes, plan and perform system and application maintenance, maintain system and procedure documentation, and process GRC controls. This resource is needed to support the Security Tools delivery & operations work.

    This resource will be responsible to design, manage & support Carbon Black Protect, Symantec Cloud Protection platform activities. This position will be Amp-India employee to keep the skillset & experience within Ameriprise. This position accounts for offshore activities to support the CBP(Carbon Black Protect) and SEP (Symantec Cloud Protection) platforms. This is an in-depth independent role to handle the tasks from offshore as SME level.

    Our primary need is systems engineering and administration with a focus on Security Client Engineering tools – Carbon Black Protection/ Symantec Coud Protection Platforms.

    SEP Symantec Cloud

    1. Thorough understanding on Policy Management/Creation/types

    2. Understanding of tool integration/API understanding.

    3. Adaptive protection

    4. Endpoint Detection Response – EDR (Thorough understanding of how Symantec works at various levels)

    5. Infrastructure upgrades/coordination with various cross commitment teams.

    CBP- Carbon Black Protection

    1. Must have experience in CBP – Policy Management/Creation.

    2. Thorough understanding on Enforcement types and requirements.

    3. Global/ Local File Approvals/ Block.

    4. Infrastructure upgrades/coordination with various cross commitment teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree/PG in Computer Science or similar field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Additional knowledge, skills, experience or training
  • 2.5-5 years of experience day to day troubleshooting, implementation of security tools Operations & Engineering role.
  • Proven experience creating, championing and maintaining processes, procedures and policies.
  • Excellent problem detection and determination skills in multiple functional infrastructure/application areas.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical information to non-technical audiences and vice versa.
  • Strong customer service orientation and an inherent sense of urgency and attention to details for resolving issues.
