Job Purpose

The Information Management Senior Officer will be responsible for overseeing the collection, analysis, and dissemination of information to support the strategic goals of Violet Organization. This role requires a strong understanding of data management, reporting, and information systems, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with various teams in a dynamic environment. The Information Management senior Officer will report to the MEAL Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Data Collection & Management:

  • Oversee the systematic collection and storage of data from various projects and programs.
  • Ensure data integrity and security, implementing best practices in data management.

Analysis & Reporting:

  • Analyze data to derive insights and support decision-making processes.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for stakeholders, including donors and partners.

Information Systems Development:

  • Lead the development and implementation of information management systems tailored to organizational needs.
  • Train staff on data collection tools and reporting systems to enhance data literacy within the organization.
  • Ensure that all records of beneficiaries are uploaded to the system for easy access and better visuality.

Collaboration & Coordination:

  • Work closely with program teams to understand their information needs and provide timely support.
  • Facilitate communication between departments to ensure cohesive information flow.

Monitoring & Evaluation:

  • Support the monitoring and evaluation of programs through effective data tracking and reporting mechanisms.
  • Contribute to the development of program indicators and performance measurements.
  • Create from scratch data collection tools in collaboration with the program focal point.
  • Train the numerators/daily workers on how to fill the tools with quality.

Capacity Building:

• Mentor the Information Management team, enhancing skills and promoting a culture of continuous learning.

Others:

  • Commitment to the path and values of the Violet (Faith in youth and volunteers, Integrity, and honesty, sacrifice and altruism, teamwork and team spirit, innovation and creativity, elegance handling and beneficiary dignity, responsiveness and initiative).
    • Respect and apply all the PSEA and child protection principles, and show high commitment to report any PSEA & CP action.…etc.
    • Commitment to implementing policies by taking them into account when planning and designing activities, as well as when receiving complaints or noticing issues related to this matter, and fulfilling their obligation to report them directly through designated channels or directly to senior management. Raising awareness among designated staff about the child protection policy and the protection from sexual exploitation and abuse, as well as the reporting mechanisms and how to handle them.

Note: the above-mentioned key responsibilities / accountabilities are illustrative ones. Other future responsibilities/accountabilities may be assigned to the job depending on the department’s organizational chart.

Qualification (Education/Work Experience)

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in information management or data analysis, preferably in a humanitarian or development context.
  • Proficiency in data management software and tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, SQL, GIS applications).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable information.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Arabic.

Desirable:

  • More than 8 years of experience in the humanitarian and/or development sector.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Google Charts, Tableau, Grafana, Chartist, FusionCharts, Datawrapper, Infogram, and ChartBlocks etc).
