Immigration Services Assistant

This position is 75%FTE (2 year fixed-term). Preference will be given to internal applicants during the first 10 days of posting.

The Bechtel International Center is responsible for services to international students, scholars and their families. The Bechtel International Center is the University office responsible for providing immigration- related services to the campus community and is also the office responsible for SEVIS compliance. 

To support our operations, we have an opening for a 2-year fixed term Immigration Services Assistant position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education & Experience

High school diploma and three years of administrative experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Proficient computer skills and demonstrated experience with office software and email applications.
• Demonstrated success in following through and completing routine tasks.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task.

Certifications and Licenses:

Physical Requirements*:

• Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
• Frequently sitting.
• Occasionally stand/walk, reach/work above shoulders, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, use a telephone, sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
• Rarely twist/bend/stoop/squat, kneel/crawl.

Working Conditions:

• This is a hybrid position that requires at least 2 days a week onsite.
• The university requires all staff to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and provide proof of vaccination prior to their start date, unless granted a medical or religious accommodation
