IBAT Finance and Administration Assistant

We are looking for a highly organised individual to support the growth of our Integrated
Biodiversity Assessment Tool (IBAT) across BirdLife’s Financial, Legal and Administration
functions.

  • Salary: 25,000-28,000 per annum
  • Annual Leave: 25 days pro rata in year 1

To aid organisations (business, government and NGOs) to act on biodiversity-related risks and
opportunities, BirdLife, in a unique collaboration model with Conservation International, IUCN
and UNEP WCMC, created the Integrated Biodiversity Assessment Tool (IBAT), a platform
integrating the world’s most authoritative biodiversity datasets.

IBAT is growing fast and and we are now looking for an IBAT Finance and Administration
Assistant 
to provide support to the IBAT Business and Finance Team. In this role, you
will be primarily supporting the Finance administration of IBAT, with particular focus on
invoicing and supporting improved efficiency projects. You will also be involved in the legal
contracting between BirdLife International’s legal function and IBAT clients, to facilitate
swift contracting.

How you will do this:

  • Finance – Supporting various aspects of financial operations, including invoicing, debtors
    and creditors, blue chip payment portals, financial reporting and budget tracking.
  • Legal – Supporting the overall flow of contracting between BirdLife’s legal function and
    clients. With a drive towards swift completion of contracting to drive a positive customer
    experience.
  • Administration – Assist with the various administrative activities within the IBAT Business
    and Finance function. Including, but not limited to, production and maintenance of
    documentation, event coordination, and efficiency projects.

Ideally you will have:

  • Strong administrative and organisational skills, including prioritisation and working to
    deadlines and meticulous with the detail.
  • An excellent level of understanding with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel
    (advanced level).
  • Experience with invoicing and other finance administrative tasks, as well as reporting and
    working within projects.
  • Experience in managing contract wording negotiations between parties, to reach a signable
    contract swiftly.
  • Self-motivated and work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience of working within a charity/NGO setting would be an advantage.
