Job Description

ASU Enterprise Technology develops, operates, supports and advises on innovative technology used by ASU to advance discoveries and the student experience. As part of Enterprise Technology Information Security Services, the Identity and Access Management (IAM) Business Analyst will review, analyze, implement, and evaluate business systems and user needs for PeopleSoft Campus Community efforts. Designs solutions and writes requirements specifications, develops and executes test plans, and works with technical staff to build and implement the technology solution. A successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in operational excellence, a passion for building long term relationships, strategy and collaborating with cross-unit teams to build a stronger ASU.

Essential Duties

  • Manages projects for PeopleSoft Campus Community by preparing and maintaining implementation plans, managing project issues and ensuring project tasks are completed.
  • Facilitates decision-making by communicating across project teams and functional areas; elicits requirements using interviews, requirements meetings, surveys, document analysis, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, and workflow analysis.
  • Serves as liaison between the functional project team and the technology support organization.
  • Consults with customers to conduct requirements gathering and solution design to address business needs.
  • Provides information to project/development teams so that solutions meet customer’s needs.
  • Collaborates with team members to ensure optimal outcomes; builds, develops, and maintains relationships vital to partnership success.
  • Supports functional users in developing reports.
  • Supports end-users through on-call support and problem resolution, as needed.
  • Mentoring Identity and Access Management staff.
  • Writes technical and operational management documentation (solution proposals, system design and engineering documents, change proposals and deployment readiness reviews).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Experience maintaining cooperative and collaborative working relationships with clients and among team members.
  • Experience with handling sensitive issues and information with confidentiality and discretion.
  • Knowledge of principles and techniques used in conducting management studies and in performing systems analysis.
  • Experience managing projects.
  • Experience with customer service.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree AND two (2) years of experience in procedural, management or systems analysis work; OR, Six (6) years of experience in procedural, management, or systems analysis work; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/ or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft products, tools, and methods.
  • Experience in mentoring and training staff.
  • Knowledge of implementing software or custom systems.
  • Experience with diplomacy to build alliances and achieve desired results.
  • Knowledge of ASU including policies, relationships, dependencies and the ability to identify key individuals within various departments, colleges and the UTO.

Working Environment

  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse
  • Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work
  • Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds
  • Regular activities require the ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
  • Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
