The Shared and Community Services I&IT Solutions Branch with the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services, Children, Youth and Social Services I&IT Cluster, is looking for an enthusiastic individual with expert knowledge of Information Management (IM) policies and practices. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver strategic expertise in the development and implementation of various information technologies to support the cluster and client ministries.

What can I expect to do in this role?
You will:
• provide expert advice on the implications and implementation of various information technologies to support IM policy implementation
• provide input to comprehensive, integrated information management (IM) strategy, plans, standards, governance models and procedures, and, where appropriate, to IM policies, for the cluster and clients
• provide controllership of information assets by planning, developing, implementing and evaluating information management services and systems in accordance with applicable legislation, standards and guidelines
• provide enterprise information management expertise, technical leadership, advice and solutions to cluster management and client ministries as related to the deployment of enterprise content management solutions such as OPSDocs (OpenText), and ministry IT systems
• develop, or lead the development of, business cases, project proposals, charters, and plans for information management projects and initiatives

How do I qualify?
Information Management Knowledge
• You have in-depth knowledge of the information technologies, applications, and computer languages specific to the program system(s) currently in use.
• You have excellent knowledge in Information Management principles, methodologies, practices and governing legislation such as Archives and Recordkeeping Act (ARA), Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA), and Freedom of Information (FOI).
• You have strong hands-on knowledge of current and emerging IM technologies such as SharePoint and Opentext to lead IM services, projects, and initiatives.
• You have relevant regulatory environment experience to evaluate and apply IM requirements for cluster/clients and ensure compliance.
• You understand I&IT/client mission, goals, strategic and operational plans, and I&IT environments to ensure organizational alignment.
• You have proven knowledge of IM standards, best practices, and industry trends to assess IM services and related IT systems.

Project Management and Analytical Skills
• You have proven knowledge in project management methodologies and I&IT standards and governance.
• You have performance measurement and quality assurance techniques to analyze effectiveness of IM systems and services, IM strategies and projects.

Communication and Computer Skills
• You have excellent verbal communication skills to communicate effectively within the ministry, with other jurisdictions and external contacts with differing degrees of information management knowledge.
• You have written communications techniques to prepare and present reports, policies/procedures and brief senior officials.
• You have proven consultation skills to provide IM expertise to the cluster and client ministries.
• You have proficiency with standard and specialized business software to prepare plans, models, reports, and presentations.

Other Essential Skills
• You understand the procurement processes and standards, service agreements development, and vendor management to advise on, and contribute to, the procurement process for IM/I&IT solutions.
• You have a demonstrated understanding of risk management, loss prevention, and mitigation techniques for the identification and protection of information assets.

Salary Range: $74,877 – $110,338 Per Year
