We are seeking a motivated and results-oriented individual to join our team as a Collections Agent. As a Collections Agent, you will be responsible for contacting customers to collect outstanding debts, negotiate payment arrangements, and maintain accurate records of interactions.

Start Date: October 15, 2024

Office Location: Hybrid

Responsibilities:

• Contact Customers: Reach out to individuals and businesses via phone, email, or written correspondence to recover overdue payments.
• Negotiate Payment Plans: Work with customers to create and manage payment plans that meet their financial needs and align with company policies.
• Maintain Accurate Records: Keep detailed and accurate records of communications, payment arrangements, and account status.
• Ensure Compliance: Adhere to all legal and regulatory requirements, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), and follow company policies in all interactions.
• Monitor Payment Schedules: Track and follow up on payment agreements to ensure timely payments and take appropriate action if payments are missed.
• Problem-Solve Payment Issues: Assist customers in resolving payment challenges by offering flexible options or finding alternative solutions.
• Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with other departments, such as finance or legal, to resolve complex cases and disputes.
• Meet Collection Targets: Achieve individual and team performance goals by recovering outstanding debts and maintaining positive customer relationships.

Requirements:

• Full-time opportunity
• Open availability: Monday to Thursday from 8am-10pm; Saturday-Sunday from 9am-6pm
• Shifts will be Sunday to Thursday or Tuesday to Saturday and a mixture of morning and afternoon times
• Training completed onsite – minimum 30 days
• Hybrid work model after training is complete
• No extended time off or vacation within the first 6 months of employment

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience in a customer service is required
• Previous experience in finance or call center environment is an asset
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in using loan processing software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to loan verification and processing.
