Work Schedule | 8:00 am – 4:30 pm; Monday – Friday with occasional evening and weekend hours required, as necessary. Mandatory Position This position is designated as ‘mandatory’ and, when contacted to report to work, its incumbent is expected to reach the building as expeditiously as possible using normal precautions as dictated by the adverse weather conditions. |
Primary Purpose of Position | The Facility Maintenance (FM) Technician Mechanical Trades position at the Contributing level is established to provide assistance to Journey level Facility Maintenance Technicians and Supervisors and to work toward independence in carrying out assigned work orders and project assignments. The position may be supported at the semiskilled level and functions well in general maintenance. The incumbent will continue to build skills in this area toward the Journey level but may also be given the opportunity to learn other trade skills from higher-level FM Technicians. This position may be used as an Apprentice. |
Minimum Education/Experience | Required Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position’s role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. University Preferred Qualifications: Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position’s role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. |
