JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Public Health Sciences, in Hershey, PA is seeking a Human Research Technologist 2. The Human Research Technologist will serve as a Patient Navigator who will engage black men in informed decision-making for prostate cancer screening using telehealth for the research study “Navigation-based Telehealth Informed Decision-making for Prostate Cancer Screening in Black Men.” The Navigator will assist with study recruitment and be primarily responsible for engaging study participants through virtual individual sessions. Other job duties include basic data entry and data management.

The role requires good verbal and communication skills. A background in social work or related field is desirable.

The work will be done virtually by Zoom, with occasional in-person meetings in Hershey.

This is a limited-term position funded for one year from date of hire, with possibility of refunding. 

TYPICAL EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

2+ years related experience

Associate’s Degree or higher; Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

The following clearances must be successfully completed for this position:  

• Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse History
• Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal Background Check
