HR Generalist


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Must possess a high degree of skill with written material including correct grammar, spelling, formatting, preparing and proofreading both routine and non-routine written correspondence

Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to review documents for accuracy and compliance with regulations.
Ability to analyze issues and apply understanding of University, federal and state requirements to a variety of other human resources functions.
Ability to analyze payroll and personnel documents for accuracy and compliance with regulations.
Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate when appropriate.
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Strong knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.
Typical Experience:
Minimum of two years of experience in human resources. Closely related experience may be considered, depending on the applicant pool.
Required Education or Training:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or closely related field. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered, depending on the applicant pool. Professional Human Resources (PHR) or (SHRM) certification preferred.

Salary Information:

This is a full-time, 12-month, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package . New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule , Grade 78, based on education and experience.
