Position Summary:
This recruitment is for a Temporary HR Generalist 2 position through UCI’s internal temporary staffing service. This position is located on the UC Irvine Campus, with a hybrid schedule and is Monday-Friday, 8am to 5pm.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
The temporary HR Generalist 2 will be working with TES employees with questions regarding payroll & benefits. This position carries out responsibilities in the following function areas: administration of all temporary employee payroll processes and maintain payroll systems. Employee will be responsible for analyzing and processing payroll transactions, processing job offers in TAM, and answering Service Now Tickets regarding internal payroll & benefits questions. As well as entering in job data, UC Path Transactions, recharge billing, separations, transfer transactions, and final pay transactions. Additional assignments will include onboarding functions during peak periods, HRBP support, recruitment support, special initiative support, HR signature event support, and a variety of other assignments within HR. The incumbent will apply professional human resources, organization policies and procedures to provide guidance to supervisors and managers to resolve a variety of human resources issues of moderate scope and complexity.

People Services is a trusted partner in providing administrative support functions that allow the UCI community to focus on their core functions to accomplish the UCI mission of teaching, research, public service, and patient care. We are seeking emerging HR professionals that are looking to diversify their experience and support UCI HR enterprise in a variety of areas. The HR Representative is a full-time rotation position within HR, supporting all areas of HR – Health HR, Campus HR, People Services, HR Partnership for Strategy & Innovation (Communications, Engagement, Performance Excellence, Talent Development, Talent Strategy, Total Rewards, Workforce Planning). HR Representatives represent the agile workforce of HR, supporting the different areas of HR at the most critical times. Assignments will include onboarding functions during peak periods, HRBP support, recruitment support, special initiative support, HR signature event support, and a variety of other assignments within HR. The incumbent will apply professional human resources, organization policies and procedures to provide guidance to supervisors and managers to resolve a variety of human resources issues of moderate scope and complexity.
Compensation Range: $28.02/hr.
Required:
- 2-3 years’ experience processing payroll
- 2-3 years’ experience in HR
- Strong data analytical skills
Preferred:
- Bilingual Spanish
- Bachelor’s Degree

TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT
This is a temporary employment recruitment reporting to the UCI Temporary Employment Services (TES) Department. Interviewing and hiring is based on internal hiring needs and how well the candidate’s experience matches the assignment requirements. Certain temporary assignments may require clearance of a health physical or require a valid California Driver’s License for driving university vehicles.
The majority of our temporary positions are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. We also have occasional part-time, weekend, and evening hours available, depending on the assignment.
