Clean Harbors

In a team made up of a technician/foreman, a chemist, technicians, a driver and helpers, the work mainly consists of identifying and sorting household hazardous waste (HHW) and participating in the smooth running of the hazardous household waste collection day.

Be the on-site contact person for technicians and employees on site regarding the identification and acceptability of household hazardous waste based on an established list. Participate in the installation and uninstallation of the site, such as the assembly and dismantling of tables, labeling of containers, etc.

Description

We are currently recruiting a Chemist / Technician (household hazardous waste). The work is carried out at temporary deposit points for household hazardous waste (paints, cleaners, used oils, batteries, etc.). Mobile collections occur each spring from early April to mid-June and each fall from late August to early October. Collections take place in several boroughs of Montreal, as well as in other MRCs on the south shore and the north shore.

Work is always on Saturday and/or Sunday for a day of approximately 12 hours (+- 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.). The candidate may, but is not required to, be available on all dates. He must be available to work at least four days in the spring and four other days in the fall.

You will have to follow the employer’s mandatory and paid training courses. You will carry out various tasks in the areas of collecting hazardous household waste.
