Adecco is immediately assisting a local AUBURN, CA client in their search for Health Information Technicians. These candidates will be responsible for the maintenance, storage and processing of all medical records and EHR data. This involves performing a variety of clerical and technical duties associated with the management and oversight of the company’s medical records including, but not limited to: electronic assembly, analysis, release of information, data processing, collection, reconciliation and preparation of reports in a manner consistent with medical, administrative, ethical, legal and regulatory requirements of a health care system. Must be able to work independently and have the ability to interact and communicate both verbally and in writing with clients, family members, the public and physicians and staff. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Processes and scans all patient health information into the electronic patient health record, ensuring it is placed into the correct folder and is labeled using a standard naming convention.
Reviews records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with policies to ensure adherence to standards or regulations.
Ensures patient health records are retrieved for providers and departments in a timely manner as needed for patient care, auditing and other purposes.
Answers incoming calls in a timely and polite manner; responds or takes messages based on caller needs.
Processes patient health records as needed for patient appointments, pharmacy, phone calls and other department needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduate or GED certificate/equivalent.
Demonstrated ability to maintain compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations, as they pertain to position including: HIPAA, Hitech and California regulatory requirements.
Proven verbal and written communication skills; ability to maintain high level of confidentiality.
Applied knowledge using Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
Demonstrated resourcefulness and strong ability to learn new technology.
Familiarity with medical terminology.
Current and in good standing: CA Driver’s License, DMV printout and proof of auto insurance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Accredited Registered Health Information Technician certification.
Experience with eClinicalWorks, or (EMR) Electronic Health Record systems.
Experience working in healthcare
Pay range: $23.50-$25.70
Pay Details: $23.50 to $25.70 per hour
