The Department of Paediatrics is the flagship representative of the University partnership with the Royal Children’s Hospital, and is co-located with the hospital in Flemington Road, Parkville. The Department of Paediatrics plays a pivotal role in the life of the Royal Children’s Hospital, with its members being actively involved in policy development and senior management. Members of the Department make major contributions to the development of child and youth health policy and to broader aspects of health policy at a national and state level.
About the Role
The Health, Education and Learning Precinct (HELP) Support Officer performs an integral support role for the Department of Paediatrics and the Royal Children’s Hospital campus partners, providing user support to the campus community for activities and programs held in the HELP. The focus of the position includes front-line technical support to users of the HELP and has a vital role in maintaining equipment and facilities in the HELP. This role will require physical onsite presence in order to carry out IT support tasks
Responsibilities include:
- As a member of the HELP Support Team, you will ensure the provision of optimal support for all users of the HELP facilities by providing a high level of client service and excellence in service, actively seeking to minimise problems for all users of the HELP IT and AV equipment.
- Providing IT and AV support for university employees, students and honorary staff located in the Department of Paediatrics, including providing advice and assistance with hardware and software systems, network connectivity and settings for both university and hospital systems
- Supporting events hosted by the University on Campus taking place onsite and via Zoom and Teams: Scheduling of webinars/meetings on the Precinct Zoom License and supporting events pre/during/post, hosting, providing live technical support and troubleshooting for events.
About You
Your well-developed organisational skills, which includes planning, prioritising, monitoring and evaluating tasks will allow you to ensure the timely delivery of activities to meet deadlines in a changing and busy environment. You will bring your excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise effectively with personnel at all levels from a variety of sectors.
You will also have:
- A tertiary qualification and experience in face-to-face technical end-user support OR an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing high level of client service and excellence in service delivery, and to working as a team with a demonstrated proactive approach to minimising problems with IT and AV equipment.
- Proven skills in assisting others engage with IT/AV equipment and systems, including multi-media, video-conferencing, network connectivity and use of routine applications
- Proven commitment to maintenance and documentation of operational processes and active review and refinement of systems and processes to improve services.
