Estates Services is responsible for the management and strategic development of Oxford University’s functional and commercial estate within Oxfordshire, including some of the most iconic buildings in the UK.

The Head of Strategic Facilities Management is a key role within Estates Services, reporting to the Director of Operations and a senior member of the Operations team.

About the Role

In this senior management role, you will responsible for day-to-day leadership and management of the FM teams comprising approx. 130 staff.

You will need to demonstrate a strong focus on delivering first class customer service, quality of operations and value for money.

This role involves promotion of professional FM services, long-term planning and foresight, providing professional expertise and guidance across the University as the expert in FM matters.

Developing strong working relationships across all parts of the University and beyond is also a critical element of this role.

About You 

To be successful in this post you will need to demonstrate:

• Substantial experience at a senior level within a large and complex organisation

• Strong Experience of managing and developing large teams, and of managing through others

• Proven ability in stakeholder management at all levels with the ability to build constructive working relationships

• First class communication skills with the ability to write high-level detailed reports and to present them to a broad range of audiences.

• Substantial experience of managing high value budgets with a constant focus of value for money

• Previous experience of managing a commercial team and an appetite for change management
