Head of SME Partnerships

We are seeking to recruit a Head of SME Partnerships to play a key role within our Business Engagement and Knowledge Exchange team. 

This position will contribute to the development and implementation of the University’s innovation strategy and supporting objectives. Reporting to the Head of Business Engagement and Knowledge Exchange, the role holder will be based within the Business Engagement & Knowledge Exchange (BE&KE) team, part of the Directorate of Research and Business Engagement. They will work with colleagues to develop and contribute to strategic objectives for the University’s engagement with business. 

The successful candidate will take the lead for the portfolio of activity across UoM aligned with SME Engagement and Consultancy. Through matrix management and working closely with colleagues across various functions, the post holder will also ensure that UoM-wide business service operations are well coordinated, coherent and comprehensive, and offer support and leadership to the wider BE&KE community. Thirdly, the post-holder will lead the development of key regional and national partnerships with sector bodies and networks supporting SME clusters.
