About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure Services, the Head of Research Computing and Support Services is the head of a significant delivery group supporting high performance and high throughput compute platforms and delivering research support services to staff and students across all four academic divisions of the University. You will play a leading role in the management of IT Services with key responsibilities in the development of the University’s long-term IT strategic plan for research support.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have significant experience of delivering IT services to support research, whether in the higher education, charitable or commercial sectors, together with the capability to lead teams of expert technical professionals. The portfolio attached to this role is complex and demanding. You will be comfortable balancing strategic thinking with operational tasks; with developing and sustaining senior stakeholder relationships whilst preparing business cases and managing budgets. Ideally, you will have sufficient technical expertise to articulate the future directions of computational and information technologies to enable innovative research, and the confidence to direct a portfolio of transformational projects.
