The International Development Office (IDO) at Swansea University is a vibrant, fast paced, dynamic department with ambitious international student recruitment targets. The post holder will join our International Development Office (IDO) and play a key strategic role, developing and delivering the University’s international recruitment marketing function within the context of the International Development Office’s international recruitment strategy. Working closely with the IDO’s Regional Teams as well as marketing, recruitment and admissions colleagues based centrally and within the University’s three Faculties, the post holder will role model effective, collaborative leadership and provide flexible, innovative solutions that will deliver against targets, across the spectrum of marketing functions. Managing the University’s portfolio of scholarships for international students also forms part of the role, as does oversight for UK International as a discreet recruitment market. 

You will lead the development and delivery of the University’s international recruitment marketing function within the context of the International Development Office’s wider international recruitment strategy and work collaboratively with colleagues in Digital Marketing, Market Intelligence and other central and Faculty-based teams to ensure the development and delivery of robust and effective marketing plans for international recruitment which are data-driven and market-led. 

You will hold a good honours degree, or equivalent, or significant and relevant work experience.

Essential Criteria- Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Evidence of demonstrating successful leadership at an organisational level and influencing key stakeholders to achieve objectives.
  • Experience of developing and delivering student recruitment marketing campaigns that have delivered on or exceeded targets.
  • Experience of developing and implementing marketing communications’ tools within a UK higher education environment including both digital and print communications.
  • Extensive knowledge of the international student recruitment and marketing environment within the UK HE sector.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and senior leaders, where shared insights, priorities and activities have been developed as part of the organisation’s strategy.
  • High level of literacy and attention to detail with the ability to produce clear and concise reports and written material for a variety of audiences.
