Finn Church Aid (FCA) is seeking for aHead of Digital & Creative Economies Program for permanent employment. TheHead of Digital & Creative Economies Program will lead and manage the Digital & Creative Economies (DICE) Program on the global FCA level, advise and support COs in strategic and innovative programming as needed, work closely with FCA Service and Accountability Centre (SAC) in Helsinki and Country Offices (CO).

The position is located at our head office in Helsinki, Finland, however, with regular travel to relevant DICE program countries. Remote work is possible from FCA program countries (you may find our countries of operations here), and from Estonia, France, Spain and Austria, all subject to an existing valid work permit in that country. Remote work from another location in Europe can be considered on a case-by-case basis, subject to valid work permit. This is not an expat position and terms of employment for locally hired employees in Finland will be applied.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Ensure the strategic, global-level development and overall quality of FCA’s Digital & Creative Economies program
  • Ensure linkages of DICE Program to FCA Global Strategy and thematic approaches in close cooperation with SAC and CO staff
  • Represent the DICE Program in international networks and forums
  • Provide advisory and technical support to DICE project teams in Country Offices as needed, including innovative programming
  • Initiate and foster partnerships that improve the quality of the program
  • Contribute to donor engagement and fundraising for the DICE Program in collaboration with Grants
  • Ensure effective communication of the program both internally and externally to enhance positive visibility
  • Support the induction and training of staff at COs and SAC to ensure knowledge transfer and capacity sharing of DICE Program
  • Support innovating and scaling-up DICE Program, share information on progress, impact, and lessons learned, and encourage cross-organizational linkages to adapt the model to different working contexts
  • Assist – or sometimes lead, in the case of SAC/globally-driven projects – the funding application processes with other relevant team members
  • Lead the Digital & Creative Economies Coordination Group
  • Support Women’s Bank initiatives on Creative Industries and Digital Livelihoods
  • Support the building of private sector partnerships that boost opportunities for improved learning, working and earning among participants of DICE Program
  • Support digitalization of FCA’s thematic work
  • Supervisory tasks as per separate FCA supervisor ToR

Competence and Personal Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in a suitable area
  • Relevant international experience in the creative, business, digital economy, and/or vocational education sector, preferably from developing countries; working in a refugee context is an asset
  • Proven experience in leading teams, managing projects, and/or driving strategic initiatives
  • Experience in developing and building practical linkages between vocational education/training and the private sector promoting employment and entrepreneurship
  • Solid understanding of business and entrepreneurship coupled with the ability to translate the knowledge into relevant entrepreneurship training and development programmes in different contexts
  • Good training and facilitation skills with the ability to utilize different media (face-to-face, eLearning, social media, etc.)
  • A forward-thinking mindset to anticipate industry trends and drive innovation
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, networking, and team-work skills in a multicultural environment
  • Fluency in English, both written and oral.

The position will be filled as soon as possible and is permanent employment, with six-month probation period. The compensation is based on FCA salary scale and the candidate’s level of experience. The position requires frequent travel.
