Head of Corporate Engagement

The key purpose of this role is to lead, manage, and develop the Careers Service’s engagement with corporates and employers. The Careers Service’s relationship with corporates is critical to its revenue generation and its understanding of the world of work.  This role also feeds into the wider University’s Corporate Development Strategy.

The post holder will represent the Careers Service at key University Committees as well as at a myriad of external corporate engagements. They will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with a wide variety of global industry sectors and organisations, including SMEs, charities, multi-nationals, and world-renowned research institutions.

The post requires highly developed strategic and management skills; excellent interpersonal, networking, leadership, and written communication skills; organisational skills; extensive people management skills, together with the capacity to work under pressure and think strategically and operationally. Furthermore, the postholder must be at ease operating at the highest level with CxO level people in FTSE/Fortune 100 organisations, as well as equivalent levels across the University. They must also be equally at ease working with small start-up organisations and mid-sized companies in all sectors.

The Careers Service at Oxford University is one of the more innovative and engaged such services in the UK. Our mission is to provide and involve all our clients in a range of high value career-focused services, programmes, and activities to encourage and enable them to make and implement well-informed decisions about their careers. We serve current Oxford students (25,000 undergraduates and postgraduates), 4,500 research staff, an international community of 250,000 alumni, and 12,000 employers and other opportunity providers.
