About Research, Innovation and Commercialisation (RIC)
RIC is a specialist team dedicated to enabling the University’s research and enterprise mission working closely with our academics, professional colleagues, industry partners, funding agencies and government agencies.

We have a passion to see our academics and their collaboration partners succeed, achieve research excellence and translate their discoveries into real-world innovation and impact. RIC operates University-wide across all ten Academic Divisions and Chancellery.

About the Role
Enterprise Partnerships and Innovation Initiatives (EP&II) is a unit within the Innovation and Enterprise portfolio of RIC. As the Head of EP&II you and your team will support the delivery of the University’s strategic vision and objectives as it relates to the development of major industry partnerships and commercialisation initiatives, as well as supporting opportunities aligned to the broader vision of mission-driven research, research translation and impact.Your responsibilities will include:

  • Implementation of the Strategic Partnership Framework to support the University’s effective engagement with industry and businesses identification
  • Development and coordination of the University’s approach to industry engagement in its Innovation precincts
  • Effective engagement across the University, including Chancellery, Faculties, Government Relations and other professional staff, and with relevant government departments and industry leaders to identify, develop and secure high-value partnership, precinct and innovation opportunities aligned to AM2030
  • Serving as a key member of the I&E leadership team,

You will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant business development experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education
  • Experience identifying and developing business opportunities, promoting expert services and consultancy, closing deals with large corporations, governments and agencies locally, regionally and globally
  • Effective board and executive engagement, including building and maintaining strong professional and collaborative working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Solid track-record of providing high level leadership in a large academic organisation in a complex environment
  • Project leadership in a complex organisation that has national and international interests, working with internal and external stakeholders from multiple sectors and organisations
