Occupational Therapist in Hand Therapy, working in our new state of the art Outpatient Pavilion designed specifically to promote ease of collaboration with our world class orthopedic surgeons. We provide care to a diverse patient population with a variety of hand and upper extremity injuries, including traumatic injuries and pathological conditions. This position is responsible for delivery of occupational therapy services including evaluation and treatment of routine and complex patients. Responsibilities will also include: representing our dynamic Rehabilitation Services department to the medical and general community, demonstrating competence in the UC San Diego Health core values, and sharing your expertise with departmental staff in areas of advanced clinical care and customer service.

  • Graduation from an accredited school of Occupational Therapy approved by the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association, eligibility for registration by the National Registry of the American Occupational Therapy Association.

  • Occupational Therapist license issued by the state of California.

  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.

  • Two (2) years of experience as a licensed Occupational Therapist.

  • Outpatient experience in a hospital based setting and/or preferred experience in a large academic medical center.
  • Certified Hand Therapist (CHT).
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • May flex and float between sites as needed.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Job offer is contingent on successful engagement in the UC COVID-19 Vaccination program (fully vaccinated with documented proof or approved exception/deferral).

If applicable, life-support certifications (BLS, NRP, ACLS, etc.) must include hands-on practice and in-person skills assessment; online-only certification is not acceptable.
