Our mission is to contribute to reduce global greenhouse gases by providing solutions for the green hydrogen production. We are stepping into the electrolysis market now to grow a new business segment for ANDRITZ over the next years. Based on our technology roadmap we are entering the market with alkaline (AEL) and proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolysis solutions.ANDRITZ has experience in turnkey EPC projects globally, a high competence in best-cost manufacturing, strong global service set-up in existing business areas, close connection to potential Green Hydrogen customers in the existing customer base in the energy sector through ANDRITZ Hydro, in the pulp&paper and steel industry.This role has a direct reporting line to the Global Director Technology Green Hydrogen in the management structure.We are looking for a Green Hydrogen Alkaline Electrolyzer Engineer (m/f/d) at our headquarter in Vienna.Ihre Aufgaben
- You will be working in the technology development of the alkaline electrolyser system
- You support strenghtening the development area for alkaline electrolysis systems within the ANDRITZ Green Hydrogen technology team
- You develop and execute testing procedures of systems and stacks for design verification and to enable simulation model calibration and optimization (e.g. process simulation, CFD, FE)
- Your focus area will be to improve and optimize the electrolyzer technology with respect to performance, lifetime, maintenance and cost.
- You coordinate external and internal R&D activites with respect to technology development and testing
- You actively use requirement management and verification to ensure the fullfilment of product and market requirments
- You develop new R&D relationships and strengthen current relationships with partners and suppliers to collaborate on electrolyzer development topics
- You drive continuous improvement of the development methodology
- You report to and work with the Technology Director and participate in the company’s IP strategy in terms of product positioning and serve as an alkaline technology expert towards our scientific and industrial partner network
Ihr Profil
- Master of Science degree or PhD in physics, process engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, material science or similar
- Minimum of2 years experience in alkaline electrolyser development
- Able to analyse the scientific literature, lead thinking on IP strategy and communicate easily with internal and external stakeholders (project team, customers, suppliers and subcontractors).
- Proactive personality able to anticipate and adapt work plans based on development constraints
- Skills in managing budgets, schedules and R&D teams
- Practical experience in electrolyzer testing, ideally in alkaline stacks
- Fluent in English, ideally experience in working within international teams
- Customer focused open personality with ownership for performance and shared commitment
- Good PC skills (e.g. Microsoft 365, CRM)
- Willingness to travel internationally and excitement to work with people from different cultures
