To strengthen our team of the Office for Grant Acquisitions we are looking for a:

Grant Officer: Pre-Award (m/f/d)

Min. 30 hrs./week

Your tasks

  • Identifying potential funding sources (European and national funding agencies) and internal promotion (e.g. workshops, communication, direct consultation)
  • Organisation and management of research proposals (focus on EU-funded research projects))
  • Coordination and management of the application phase of individual and consortial projects, including proactive communication with funding agencies and consortial partners
  • Administrative support and independent, content-related advice with a focus on the funding guidelines of Horizon Europe (Impact, Dissemination and Communication & Exploitation)
  • Creation of supporting documents and templates
  • Coordination of internal processes with different divisions (e.g. Controlling, Research Support Service) in grant related matters
  • Independent management and processing of applications for internal initiation funding for Horizon Europe proposals
  • Further development of an EU funding strategy for the three faculties in the research framework program Horizon Europe and beyond
  • Monitoring of data/statistics related to third party funds for reports and external communication
  • Participation in conferences, networking events, and university internal events related to Grant Acquisition
  • Handling tasks within the scope of the EIT Health
  • Development and maintenance education formats and workshops (e.g., podcast) for researchers to simplify the application process for EU fundings
  • Participation at events and seminars related to Horizon Europe
  • Maintenance and further development of the grant acquisition website and intranet page

We require evidence of the following qualifications for the application:

  • University degree (minimum bachelor’s degree), preferably in the natural sciences or technical field
  • Practical experience in grant office and/or funding agencies, preferably of EU-funded projects (Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe)
  • Practical research experience or writing of scientific funding applications, preparing publication lists and scientific curriculum vitae, publishing scientific articles
  • Very good knowledge of German (at least B2) and English (at least B2)
  • Very good Microsoft 365 skills
  • High level of willingness to work in a service oriented manner (support for researchers)
  • Ability to present topics confidently, understandably and appealingly
  • Proactivity and willingness to learn
  • Willingness to carry out administrative and organisational tasks

In addition, the following criteria are desirable:

  • Excellent knowledge of English (C1) desirable, a stay abroad in an English-speaking area is an advantage
  • experience with collaboration tools (e.g. MS Teams)
