Job Description:

Iowa State University’s Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) is accepting applicants for a Graduate Student Services Specialist II to collaborate closely with the Director of Iowa State Online and the Assistant Director Student Services to assist in the coordination of university-wide online graduate student support. This position will work directly with online students across many programs in the different academic units at the university.

The Graduate Student Services Specialist will be responsible for providing support to graduate students taking online classes or in an online program. This position will be, tracking student engagement, supporting course scheduling, assisting student navigate the online environment, and collecting data for analysis of enrollments and student satisfaction with their online experiences. Additionally, this position will collaborate with Graduate College and academic units across the university.
 

The successful candidate will have effective time management and organizational skills, the ability to work well with a diverse population, and the ability to communicate effectively. All staff members are expected to interact collegially and maintain the highest standards of integrity and ethical behavior.

Level Guidelines
• Intermediate-level position with solid professional and/or technical skills working under general supervision to achieve goals
• Applies broad, working knowledge of the principles of the field to moderately complex, difficult, and varied problems and issues
• Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action and resolve problems
• Responds to a broad range of inquiries and requests
• May provide training and/or direction to lower-level staff
• May lead projects of moderate scope and complexity.
• Provides guidance to students
