Summary/Objective
This position develops and implements programs to enhance the college’s diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) mission, its retention and student services goals. This position provides graduate student advising to at-risk students and guidance to graduate program directors on academic regulations and student services.
Essential Functions
Student Outreach Programming – Develop and implement graduate student programs for the College in order to increase student retention and recruitment. Programs will focus on, but are not limited to, enriching the graduate student experience, and improving outreach to underrepresented student groups.
Student Retention and Advising – In consultation with the Associate Dean of Graduate Studies and Director of Graduate Academic programs, develop and implement strategies aimed at high-risk students. Advise all students on academic probation.
Graduate Recruitment and Orientation Activities – Oversee all CAS graduate orientation activities, including the coordination of the CAS Dean’s Office Graduate Orientation. As needed, assists the Director of Graduate Academic Programs and Graduate Enrollment Management Office with graduate recruitment.
Degree Completion Services – Manage all dissertation/thesis submissions to the CAS Dean’s Office.
Other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean of Graduate Studies or Director of Graduate Academic Programs.

Required Education and Experience
-
Bachelor’s Degree
-
Experience in developing and implementing programs related to student outreach and retention.

Excellent oral and written communication skills
-
Excellent attention to detail with strong ability to prioritize and multi-task.
-
Initiative, flexibility, and teamwork approach desirable, along with strong interpersonal skills.
Preferred Education and Experience
-
1-3 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in higher education and student services.

Familiarity with university academic regulations and student record databases.
