Description
Seeking a highly motivated student to conduct a radio telemetry study of channel catfish in the San Juan River, New Mexico and Utah. Channel catfish are a nonnative predator and efforts are underway to optimize removal approaches that control populations threatening native fishes, including federally endangered Colorado pikeminnow and razorback sucker. This project is a collaborative research effort with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and other research partners.
Qualifications
Previous experience with radio telemetry, statistical analysis, whitewater rafting and field work are preferred. Applicants should be willing to spend extended periods of time at remote field locations.
