- Seeking a highly motivated student to conduct a radio telemetry study of channel catfish in the San Juan River, New Mexico and Utah. Channel catfish are a nonnative predator and efforts are underway to optimize removal approaches that control populations threatening native fishes, including federally endangered Colorado pikeminnow and razorback sucker. This project is a collaborative research effort with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and other research partners.
- Qualifications
- Previous experience with radio telemetry, statistical analysis, whitewater rafting and field work are preferred. Applicants should be willing to spend extended periods of time at remote field locations.
