Position Summary The Graduate Program Specialist plays a creative lead role in promoting graduate education at UWL and supports graduate programs in a variety of ways. This position serves as the primary administrative contact for several UWL online graduate programs, including those offered in collaboration with other UW System campuses. The Graduate Program Specialist shares responsibility for the design and maintenance of Graduate & Extended Learning web pages that are focused on graduate education and assists with the design and maintenance of individual graduate program websites. Our new colleague will promote graduate education to a diverse group of highly qualified learners by developing engaging recruitment materials and by using SalesForce (Target X) to assist graduate applicants. The Graduate Program Specialist is responsible for on-campus and virtual event management for graduate programming throughout the year, including the Say it in 6 and 3 Minute Graduate Project competitions, as well as a Graduate Hooding Ceremony each May and December. Our office is very collaborative, and our work provides the chance to interact with a diverse group of individuals, including colleagues on and off campus, instructors and students.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in any field
  • 2 years of administrative experience
  • Experience with website design and maintenance using an established content management system
  • Experience with managing budgets
  • 2 years of experience working directly with the public (e.g., students, customers, clients)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively, and to set priorities to meet the demands of the position.
  • Demonstrated ability to use discretion and good judgment regarding confidential information.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in any field
  • Administrative experience at a college or university
  • Experience in marketing and recruiting
  • Experience with SalesForce (Target X) or another customer relationship management (CRM) system

Working conditions and environment
  • Some in and out of town travel required to attend meetings, to include some evenings and weekends to support programs and events. Many aspects of this position require a campus presence but a limited amount of regular work from home can also be accommodated.
