Summary of Job Duties:

The Graduate Assistant in the Division of Student Affairs will be exposed to various complex and challenging problems that will require critical thinking and analytical skills. This position will learn how to analyze data, identify patterns and trends, and become proficient at using different software applications to present data in an understandable and meaningful way. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education;

  • Regular admission to a graduate degree program or good standing with the Graduate School for continuing graduate students;

  • Ability to work the required hours (FT-50% – 20 hours per week/PT-25% – 10 hours per week) with regular attendance;

  • Experience with finance data.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • Experience in accounting;

  • Experience with finance and human resource data;

  • Background in business analytics and reporting.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Track, analyze, and interpret finance and human resource data; 

  • Work with stakeholders on visualizing deliverables such as reports and dashboards;

  • Collaborate with the Student Affairs Reporting Committee on administrative tasks;

  • Train staff on how to use the reports and dashboards created;

  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to work well in a team;

  • Ability to solve problems effectively;

  • Strong oral and written communication skills;

  • Possess strong mathematical skills;

  • Knowledge of business analytics and reporting standards;

  • Basic knowledge of higher education and/or not-for-profit organizations from a financial perspective.

$8,000 stipend
