GP Farm Associate

We have immediate openings for Farm Associates in the Elkmont, AL and surrounding areas. All positions are day shift. Pay starts at $16/hr. Growth opportunities are readily available to those interested in growing with our company.

General Responsibilities:

• Feeding and restocking for the following day.
• Picking up and incinerating mortality
• Humanely euthanizing birds as needed
• Walking in the chicken house multiple times a day to gather floor/slat eggs on breeder farms
• Gathering and sorting eggs putting them in the cooler at the proper intervals on breeder farms
• Performing routine maintenance
• Maintaining a clean farm both inside and outside
• Shower in/ shower out and follow all biosecurity procedures

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

• Able to lift 50 lbs unassisted
• Routine handling and interacting with live poultry
• Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate
• Standing for extended periods of time (6 hours)
• Grip, grasp or twist using hands and wrists
• Bend and stoop repetitively throughout out shift
• Prolonged exposure to dry and dusty environments
• Work cooperatively with a team
• Strong sense of personal responsibility
• Take accountability for individual performance
• Withstand ongoing presence of farm related smells or foul odors
• Extreme climate exposure both hot and cold
• Working in damp and/or wet climate, PPE provided
