This is a full-time position that works closely with criminal justice agencies and Commission-certified training schools to ensure criminal justice officers and instructors are hired and certified appropriately. Additionally, this position is responsible for auditing Commission-certified training schools’ administration of Commission-approved training courses and expenditures from the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Trust Fund. This position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills. This position requires the ability to analyze and audit physical and electronic files as well as the ability to work independently and as a member of a team. The position requires extensive day travel and periodic overnight travel. The position includes an assigned state vehicle for business use.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Specific duties include:

  • Providing management consulting services to improve management capabilities and operational procedures related to the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission/Professionalism Division to the criminal justice community, non-criminal justice agencies and the public;
  • Planning and implementing new programs for collecting, using and verifying criminal justice data;
  • Conducting management studies and surveys of criminal justice professionalism programs;
  • Analyzing and developing the projects relating to the criminal justice professionalism programs;
  • Assisting federal, state and local agencies in the compliance and verification of Commission issues; and
  • Working independently and in teams to accomplish objectives established by the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission.

To be considered as a potential candidate, you must meet the minimum qualifications(s) listed below. Degrees must be from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and three years of experience in planning, research and analysis, evaluation, or administrative work; or

  • A high school diploma or its equivalent and seven years of experience in planning, research and analysis, evaluation, or administrative work; or
  • Any combination of education or experience, as described above, for a total of seven years.
  • A master’s degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for one year of the required experience.

Note: 30 semester hours, or equivalent, of coursework from an accredited college or university is equivalent to one year of experience.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System;
  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis;
  • Knowledge of basic management principles and practices;
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures regarding the criminal justice system;
  • Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document work flow and other activities relating to the improvement of management practices;
  • Ability to organize data into a logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials;
  • Ability to conduct fact finding research;
  • Ability to utilize problem solving techniques;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments;
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing; and
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

SPECIAL NOTE: The selected candidate must reside in Hernando, Hillsborough, Lake, Pasco, Pinellas, or Sumter counties.BASE SALARY:

  • $ 51,320.27
