Job Description & SummaryBMSS Advisors & CPAs is looking for a Government Contracts Consultant who values cultivating relationships to join our GovCon team. BMSS was established in Birmingham in 1991 and has grown to become a top 100 advisory and CPA firm in the U.S. We have four locations in Alabama (Hoover, Downtown Birmingham, Gadsden, Huntsville) as well as one in Mississippi (Ridgeland). We would prefer this candidate to be located near the Huntsville office.Our services include tax planning, compliance and assurance, merger, and acquisition, advisory, wealth management, accounting services, payroll, and IT Support. BMSS strives to give all clients “peace of mind” and believes in exceptional client experience.What you’ll be doing:The Sr Government Contract role is responsible for all bid and proposal activities with minimal supervision as well as contracts negotiation, review, implementation and compliance. Applicants should have a bachelor’s or master’s degree, and at least 10 years of contracts experience.Skills needed to be successful:Required:

• BS in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience
• Strong written communication skills.
• Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Suite of Products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Solid understanding of Government Contract Accounting in compliance with FAR/DCAA standards

Responsibilities:

• Bid and proposal activities
• Contracts negotiation, review, implementation and compliance
• Maintain current knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, policies and procedures
• Interact with customers and senior management personnel
• Coordinate, prepare and distribute contractual deliverables and reporting
• Provide program managers as needed with detailed contract reviews and cost analyses
• Draft and review agreements such as Teaming and Non-Disclosures
• Contract closeout
