ASU attracts passionate students like you from around the world who want to learn how to develop solutions to some of the most pressing challenges. The Global Futures Champions Scholarship supports incoming undergraduate students based on their education goals as well as merit and/or financial need.

If awarded, you can use funds in one of the following two ways:
1. Tuition and education expenses (posted to your student account in myASU).
2. Funds for development of a solution to a complex challenge (up to $4,000 with an approved proposal and budget).

Note: You can also elect to reserve the funds for a future semester as long as they are used while you are a College of Global Futures undergraduate degree-seeking student within 4 years of starting the program.

In order for your application to be considered for this competitive scholarship, you must:

1. Be an incoming freshman or undergraduate transfer student, planning to enroll full-time.
2. Have completed your application to ASU and be admitted to a College of Global Future’s degree program.

Note: If you would like to have your financial need considered, please make sure you have completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Application information

Application Process
Your application for the Global Futures Champions Scholarship will be submitted through the ASU scholarship portal and must include a video or essay submission addressing how you think globally and act locally. Your submission should include the following: your name, city, and state (or country if outside the U.S.), and should answer the following questions:

1. What is your name, what city, state, and country (if outside the U.S.) are you from?
2. What is the name of the most recent high school or community college you are coming from?
3. Which program in the College of Global Futures did you apply to?
4. Identify a global challenge you are concerned about and tell us what you can do locally to help mitigate the issue. In your response, please address:
– Why working on this challenge is important to you.
– How you would go about better understanding the complexity and sustainability of the challenge as part of your studies in the program.
– If you have any ideas for a potential innovative solution to this challenge.
– What you can do locally to help make a positive impact.
5. Optional: If you have financial need, please explain how this scholarship could help your financial situation. Please also remember to submit a FAFSA if you are eligible to do so.

Only complete applications will be considered.

Video Submissions
If you are submitting a video, you must provide a link to the video as part of the application process. Videos must be viewable without an account or password and requirements are as follows:
1. Create a video between one and two minutes long (1:00 – 2:00) addressing the questions above.
2. Upload the video. Videos must be viewable without an account or password.
– If you are using YouTube, please select “public” or “unlisted” from the privacy menu.
– If you are using Vimeo, please choose “anyone” from the “who can view” privacy menu.
– If you are using another platform, please ensure that the video is viewable without an account or password.
3. Name your video. Video title should include your name and the semester you anticipate enrolling at Arizona State University (example: Ana Gibson Fall 2023).

Essay Submissions
If you are submitting an essay, you will be prompted to upload the essay to the application. Documents must be viewable using standard software, such as Microsoft Word or Adobe Reader. Recommended formats include .doc, .docx, .txt, or .pdf. Essay requirements are as follows:
1. Write an essay of approximately 500 words, double-spaced addressing the questions above.
2. Name your file. Document title should include your name and the semester you anticipate enrolling at Arizona State University (example: Ana Gibson Fall 2023.doc).
