Our model for success is a better life for everyone and purposeful tasks for our employees. For more than 50 years, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), as a company of the German Federal Government, has been supporting the implementation of development policy goals worldwide. Together with partner organisations in 120 countries, we are involved in a diverse range of projects. If you want to make a difference in the world and develop yourself in the process, you”ve come to the right place.
The position will mainly support the climate change team in China, specifically the following projects:
•Sino-German Cooperation on Climate Change – Climate Partnership
•Sino-German Cooperation on ETS, Carbon Market Mechanisms, and Non-CO₂ Greenhouse Gas Mitigation
In addition, the intern will also lend a hand to the coordination team of the Green Transformation Cluster of GIZ East Asia, in which the climate projects are embedded.
The Sino-German-Cooperation on Climate Change facilitates bilateral exchange on NDC implementation and climate governance between the Chinese and German government. At the national level, it supports policy dialogue and enhances the exchange of experiences and best practices. At the local level, activities contribute to the enhanced implementation of climate policies (e.g. regarding mitigation and finance) and measures in China’s 15th Five-Year Plan. GIZ implements the projects as part of Germany’s International Climate Initiative (IKI) on behalf of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMUKN).
