Physical Requirements Requires frequent sitting at desk with phone and computer use, and moving between office, ambulatory, and inpatient clinic spaces, and occasional lifting of objects up to 25 lbs.
Shift Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Job Summary The Pediatric Genetics & Metabolism service seeks a genetic counselor to support patients, families, and our vibrant team. The genetic counselor will join a genetic counseling team of three certified genetic counselors and a genetic counselor assistant. The person in this position will provide genetic counseling and education to pediatric and adult patients both independently and collaboratively with physicians and advanced practice providers in ambulatory and in-patient settings. Patients are seen in person and via telehealth. The genetic counselor will contribute to patient care coordination through referral triage, clinic preparation, and follow up planning. This role also involves interactions with professionals at UK HealthCare and the larger community to promote appropriate and equitable delivery of genetic services.
