GEMS Topic: Does access to ICT Enhances Production Efficiency of Households?
Monash University Malaysia
About the Project
Households’ ability to efficiently utilize various factors of production contributes to SDG1. ICT play as an instrument in implementing programs and monitoring its impact to various SDGs. SDG17 explicitly needs ICT, and the cross-cutting digital transformation to forge these partnerships. What will be the role of ICT at the grassroots? The study will identify various indicators of household efficiency in accessing factors of production, e.g., income, savings, etc. Concomitant factors like education, employment, ownership and expenditures, and spatial externalities will be identified. Access to ICT and financial risk mitigation instruments like insurance will then be considered as determinants of efficiency function.
