The College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS) at the American University of Armenia invites applications for open rank full-time faculty positions for its MA in International Relations and Diplomacy (MAIRD) Program. We seek scholars whose research and teaching interests focus on one or more of the following subfields of International Relations: International Political Economy, Foreign Policy Analysis, or International Organizations. While the position is within the International Relations and Diplomacy graduate program, teaching, research, and academic service responsibilities may extend to discipline-adjacent programs and research centers within the College.

Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will contribute to both undergraduate and graduate teaching (three courses per semester) and will be expected to teach courses including but not limited to: Research Methods for Political Science, International Organizations and Global Governance, Diplomacy and Negotiations, International Political Economy, and/or Theories of IR.
Applicants should demonstrate a clear research agenda and the potential to produce original, high-quality scholarship in their academic discipline. A record of peer-reviewed publications or evidence of research promise is expected.
The new faculty member will contribute to the MAIRD Program’s participatory and shared governance, curriculum planning, thesis and capstone advising, and engagement in program- and university-level responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Earned Ph.D. (or expectation of degree conferral by the appointment date) in Political Science, International Relations, Diplomacy, or a related field preferably from a US institution.
- Teaching experience, preferably in a US-accredited institution, will be considered an asset.
- Demonstrated interest in scholarship and research, evidenced by a record of peer-reviewed scholarly publications commensurate with the academic rank being sought.
- Experience in advising and mentoring undergraduate and/or graduate students.
- Excellent command of the English language (both spoken and written).
Compensation
Compensation is commensurate with the university-wide pay scale and will be determined based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
