They combine international academic expertise in research with practical experience in specific fields of action in social work/social pedagogy and networking with relevant stakeholders.Experience with different theoretical approaches, various qualitative and, if applicable, quantitative research methods as well as interest in critical intersectional perspectives are expected. Furthermore, knowledge of the Austrian framework conditions and infrastructure for social work/social pedagogy or the willingness to familiarize oneself with them is expected.The successful candidate should also have expertise in fields of action and problem areas of social work/social pedagogy and be able to guide theory-practice reflection in a science-based manner. Fields of action and problem areas include, for example, ageing, poverty and social assistance, assisted living, drug addiction, adult education, violence prevention, youth work, youth delinquency, migration and asylum or homelessness.A habilitation or equivalent degree in social work or closely related disciplines is desirable.Your academic profile:

  • Doctoral degree/PhD
  • Outstanding research achievements, excellent publication and funding record, international reputation
  • Proven leadership qualities
  • Gender and diversity competence
  • Experience in designing and managing large research projects
  • Enthusiasm for excellent teaching and supervision at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral level
  • Willingness to take on organisational and administrative responsibilities within the Faculty and/or the University
