About the Role: Mid-Level Front End Software Engineer/Developer
Our team supports the S&P Global desktop and mobile platforms, along with capabilities that provide our customers with essential intelligence. We are looking for a mid-level engineer to help us build and maintain our in-house design system, plus contribute broadly to architecture, system design, and product building within our Micro Frontend architecture. You will work with a team of geographically diverse software engineers who share the goal of building performant, beautiful user interfaces.
Responsibilities:
Work with UX designers to improve our React component library used throughout the organization
Help enhance the front-end capabilities of multiple teams utilizing Micro Frontend architecture
Enable release-on-demand strategies by applying DevOps techniques using automation, containerization, and serverless capabilities
Delight our customers with a rich, modern, user experience.
Account for project challenges and constraints including risks, time, resources, and scope
Work closely with project management teams to successfully monitor the progress of initiatives
Define clear goals for all aspects of a project and manage their proper execution
What We’re Looking For:
Degree in Computer Science or similar experience
3+ years of experience developing front-end solutions and component libraries
Strong experience in React, Typescript, Apollo/GraphQL, CSS-in-JS, Webpack, Micro Frontend architecture, and other technologies in the React ecosystem.
Experience configuring application build scripts for development and production using Node, NPM, Webpack, and Rollup.
Comfort dealing with a broad range of web development concerns, e.g., caching, CDNs, CI/CD, security, etc.
Project management and leadership skills are essential
Ability to work with multi-functional and remote Agile teams including code reviews and feedback to engineers.
Strong test automation development skills ensuring applications are built and delivered with quality unit and integration tests.
Note: Be advised that this position collaborates heavily with developers located overseas. Working United States Eastern time zone hours will be required.
