Front Desk Coordinator- Owen Clinic – 119977

Under the direction of the Clinic Manager, the Patient Access Representative performs and coordinates general front office duties to include but not limited to reception, co-pay collection, appointment scheduling, as well as referrals and authorizations. Serves as a resource for patients, physicians, staff and ambulatory care service managers. Functions as department liaison between clinical/business operations and administration. Provides administrative support to the Owen Physicians. Other related duties as assigned.

  • A minimum of three (3) years of related experience to include one(1) year of front desk/receptionist and scheduling experience in a health care setting.

  • Proven experience with insurance and authorization verification.

  • Prior cash handling experience.

  • Possess demonstrated knowledge of third party payors including federal, state, and private health plans.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.

  • Ability to work in an interactive environment and possess excellent customer service skills both in person and over phone.

  • Have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing and be able to articulate complex ideas for all levels of audiences.

  • Possess the personal characteristics of professionalism, credibility, commitment to high standards, innovation, discriminating judgment and accountability.accountability.

  • EPIC.
  • HIV/Primary Care experience.
  • Bilingual: Spanish/English.
  • Experience with referrals.
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

If applicable, life-support certifications (BLS, NRP, ACLS, etc.) must include hands-on practice and in-person skills assessment; online-only certification is not acceptable.
