Freeport-McMoRan is a leading international natural resources company with headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona. Freeport-McMoRan operates large, long-lived, geographically diverse assets with significant proven and probable reserves of copper, gold, molybdenum, cobalt, oil and gas. It has a dynamic portfolio of operating, expansion and growth projects in the copper industry and is also the world’s largest producer of molybdenum and a significant gold, oil and gas producer. This scholarship is to support undergraduate students attending Arizona State University from the mining communities where Freeport-McMoRan operates.

This award is selected and administered by the ASU Foundation.

Additional criteria: 

Students must be from a mining community in Arizona where Freeport-McMoRan operates: Morenci, Bagdad, Sierrita, Miami, or Safford.

Students majoring in any of the following fields are eligible to apply:
-Geology
-Engineering (chemical, mechanical, electrical, environmental, or geological)
-Chemistry or environmental sciences
-Supply chain management, accounting, or human resources

Donor preferences:
