FP&A Lead Analyst Finance Transformation – Technology (C13 Hybrid) in Heredia, Costa Rica


The Institutional Client Group (ICG) Finance Transformation team will play a critical role in achieving ICG Finance and Citi Finance’s transformation agenda, reporting to the ICG CFO, and working closely with partners across the firm including Finance Transformation, Technology, Capital Planning, Risk and the respective business areas. This group will provide the support and guidance to execute on key infrastructure and technology solutions that will enable a more robust and mature end state vision for forecasting transformation. The team will play a critical role in scoping key business requirements for planning and forecasting cycles, and ensuring the tools (models, analytical tools, etc.) are available to deliver robust business plans at various levels of the organization.

The FP&A Lead Analyst will play a key role in Citi’s shift to a more dynamic and integrated planning process. We aim to improve the quality and efficiency of strategic and operational planning while reducing cycle time and effort. Our goal is to provide management with more accurate and timely information that enables better decision making.

The ideal candidate will need to have a solid understanding of financial planning processes along with strong analytical skills and experience working with planning technology solutions. The candidate will also work across a spectrum of key stakeholders to ensure expectations are managed and critical objectives are met through the development and design process. This combination of skills and experience along with a curiosity to learn about the business and have an ability to use technology and financial systems to build capabilities are necessary to develop effective solutions and transform how FP&A advises our business partners.


  • Design, test and help implement new technology initiatives across the Finance and Forecasting transformation agenda.

  • Provide client focused support and training to business FP&A teams as they adopt new capabilities.

  • Adept at building and implementing technology-enabled business solutions for clients as part of a high-talent team.

  • Solid analysis skills, forecasting/outlooking, reporting and complex modeling.

  • Conduct analysis that facilitates the transformation of complex data/information into actionable insights.

  • Ability to understand business objectives while navigating your way through the data ecosystem to find the best approach.

  • Proven experience defining systems strategy, developing systems requirements, designing and prototyping, testing, training, defining support procedures, and implementing analytical tools and capabilities.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel required, including demonstrated ability to build financial models and reporting.

  • Strong functional knowledge around financial planning systems and processes. OneStream or similar platform experience is a plus.

  • Working experience with Tableau or equivalent data visualization tool

  • Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.


  • 6-10 years of relevant experience

  • An understanding of financial modeling, data visualization and analytics and strong analytical skills and attention to detail

  • Tech savvy and proven experience working the implementing financial planning systems and data visualization tools.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across a wide range of global stakeholders with various levels of seniority.

  • Strong communication skills, ability to convey clear and simple messages with a focus on what matters to drive impact.

  • Self-starter, must be able to work autonomously and in a team-oriented environment, to effective plan and manage multiple projects and milestones,

  • Agile and flexible, resetting priorities as appropriate.

  • Advanced English Required


  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience in finance related field
