RMIT Training Pty Ltd is a company of RMIT University. We deliver pathway programs that enable international students to articulate into undergraduate degree programs at university. These pathway programs include Foundation Studies and ELICOS English language programs. We also provide a range of education solutions to academics and professionals with our Informit products and services such as EduTV and TVNews. 

About Foundation Studies 

The RMIT Training Foundation Studies Program consists of courses comparable in standard to an Australian Year 12 curriculum. It is nationally recognised as a program that equips international students with the skills and capabilities to seek entry into higher education programs in Australia. This program is designed to prepare students for a seamless transition into a range of higher education programs. It develops a mix of discipline knowledge, academic English and study skills in a supportive, flexible and learner-centred environment. It aims to assist students to become independent, critical and lifelong learners and to maximise their potential for success in an Australian university context.   

About the Role 

The Team Leader, Curriculum (TLC) Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) reports to the Deputy Director, Foundation Studies and supports the goals and objectives of RMIT Training Pathways. The TLC’s role includes responsibility for curriculum and assessment development for STEM courses globally as well as oversight for the consistent delivery and quality assurance of the STEM courses at all provider locations.

Employees appointed to positions at this classification: 

  • Manage the curriculum and assessment activities of Foundation Studies. 
  • Play a significant role with senior representatives of associated client groups for example offshore partners and other key stakeholders. 
  • Use their extensive management and teaching skills to provide leadership in curriculum and assessment 
  • May be required to travel internationally

About You 

To be successful in this position you will have: 

  • A recognised degree relevant to the course being taught plus a formal postgraduate qualification in the delivery of education
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant teaching experience including experience in delivering to students from non-English speaking backgrounds
  • Current Working with Children Check or VIT registration
  • Considerable experience teaching Foundation Studies or equivalent in a university setting
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, support and advise teachers
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Well-developed administrative and organisational skills
  • Sensitivity to the needs of students of non-English speaking background
  • Demonstrated capacity to work independently as well as to initiate, form and lead cohesive teams
  • Excellent digital literacy skills
  • Experience in a position of responsibility in Foundation Studies or equivalent in a Secondary school or University setting
  • TESOL (English Language Teaching Qualification) will be highly regarded
