FOUNDATION RELATIONS COORDINATOR, Resource Development, to join a team providing development support to frontline fundraising staff within MIT’s Office of Foundation Relations (OFR), a fundraising unit within Resource Development. This development support may take the form of preparing grant acknowledgment letters and internal memoranda; creating briefings for foundation visits; producing confidential research summaries on foundations (past and prospective donors); supporting foundation events; handling occasional special projects as assigned, e.g., assisting with the preparation and/or submission of proposals, prospect management and strategy development, stewardship, and visits from foundations; and strategy meeting scheduling and preparation.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; at least two years of relevant work experience; a high degree of initiative and follow-through; meticulous attention to accuracy and detail; familiarity with standard references and development research techniques; excellent organizational, writing, and verbal communication skills; tact and diplomacy with confidential information and while interacting with offices of senior leadership, faculty, and program staff across the Institute; proficiency with Macintosh Operating System, Word, PowerPoint, and database creation and management software (FileMaker Pro, Excel, etc.); and the ability to quickly learn new technologies. Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple projects/assignments under tight time constraints; analyze, synthesize, and present information; collaborate effectively with others, including occasional interactions with internal (faculty and staff) and external (staff at foundations) clients; and to work well independently and as a team member.
