Job Summary | Food Service Supervisor will be responsible for leading, creating, producing, planning and directing the operations of the residence halls. Food Service supervisors are also responsible for supervising student staff in the designated area(s). Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting in Grab and Go, Deli, vegetable preparation, specialty cold food production, in-house catering production, and hot food production. Hours of Operation: The hours of these positions are typically Monday through Thursday, 1pm- 9:30pm and Sundays 11am-7:30pm. Hours of operation may change to accommodate operational needs, and other availability is needed if there are special events or training of personnel. Position also requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time. This position is a full-time (40 hours per week), approximately nine (9) month seasonal appointment, concurrent with the academic year. Seasonal appointments traditionally have the following unpaid work breaks: The period from Christmas break through mid January when classes resume and at the end of Spring semester until the Fall semester begins. Employees in seasonal positions are expected to return to work and do not reapply each time there is a break. Benefits may be prepaid over the summer break to ensure there is no lapse in coverage. Salary: The salary range for this position will be $20-22 per hour; Individual candidates’ experience, education and qualifications will determine the appropriate starting rate at the time of hire. The University of Wisconsin (UW) System offers a comprehensive benefits package to meet the diverse needs of our community. The University contributes towards the cost of several benefit plans. Employees also receive a vacation package starting at 104 hours during first year, sick leave (with no expiration), personal holiday (36hrs each year), and paid legal holidays. |
