Newnham College seeks an experienced, self-motivated Food Service Manager to oversee the front of house team in the Catering Department at the College. One of 3 similar Managers, working a busy shift system, this post is temporary for up to a year, to cover maternity leave. Flexibility regarding working hours is important to this role, although no Sunday working is required. This post would suit a smart, reliable individual with good customer service skills and some experience of over-seeing front of house staff and casuals.

The busy, professional catering operation at the College provides a full dining and buttery service from Monday to Saturday to staff, fellows, students and visitors and also caters for a wide range of functions and events, such as garden parties, conferences and weddings.

This is a full-time post working an average of 37.5 hours per week and the annual salary is paid at point 32 on the University’s single salary spine, which currently equates to £26,396 per annum. As well as the opportunity to grow and develop on a professional level the College also offers a range of employee benefits including 33 days a year holiday, (inclusive of bank holidays), free lunches and parking when available, use of the College gym (when its open) and the post is pensionable under the College’s attractive contributory pension scheme with a current employer contribution rate of 21.6%.
