Summary of Job Duties:

The Fixed Asset Specialist is responsible for the maintenance of building/room barcodes. This position will affix property asset tags to items weekly and update departmental accounting records after scanning is completed. This position will do all scheduling of departments to perform their annual inventory scanning which will include making sure scanners are ready and delivered. The Fixed Asset Specialist is in charge of the annual maintenance upkeep of all scanners. This position will assist Property Accounting Staff with various projects, assist auditors, and perform other duties as assigned.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma

  • At least two years of experience in inventory control or a related field

Applicable equivalencies may be considered.

  • At least one year in a supervisory capacity

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fixed Asset (Moveable furniture and equipment) inventory experience

  • At least two years of customer service experience

  • University work experience

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles

  • Knowledge of filing and record-keeping procedures

  • Knowledge of computers and software application programs especially Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Knowledge of customer service techniques

  • Ability to record fiscal information and manipulate data to generate reports and documents

  • Ability to interpret department policies and procedures

  • Ability to communicate using clear communication skills which could include but not be limited to the following methods: personal face-to-face contact; using email or other written correspondence; and through telephone contact
