Job Description

The College of Health Solutions is seeking a Fiscal Specialist to join their Business Services team. This position will monitor the daily business and financial operations and functions of the college to ensure ongoing adherence with established policies and standards. This position will report directly to the Assistant Director of Operations.

Salary Range

$48,240 – $60,000 per year; DOE

Essential Duties

  • Perform payroll reconciliations.
  • Prepare journal vouchers and accounting adjustments in Workday.
  • Review and approve travel requests in Concur.
  • Perform account reconciliations to ensure accurate accounting and use of funds according to budgetary guidelines.
  • Remain current regarding all policies, practices, methods, standards, regulations and requirements affecting the business and operational activities to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Monitor incoming customer service emails and respond to inquiries.
  • Assist with electronic filing and tracking activities.
  • Review and route internal forms in Adobe Sign.
  • Help prepare and update a variety of financial reports and documents.
  • Provide training and guidance to customers for assigned area of responsibility.
  • May supervise subordinate staff and/or student workers; ensure assigned work is accomplished in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work effectively in an environment subject to quickly changing priorities and short deadlines.
  • Work effectively and collaboratively with other team members, faculty and staff across the College and University.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or closely related field AND two (2) years of prior business operations experience; OR,Six (6) years of directly related administrative experience; OR,Any equivalent combination of experience, and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in a higher education setting, preferably ASU.
  • Experience with ASU systems including Workday, PeopleSoft, and Concur.
  • Experience working with Excel to produce reports.
  • Experience in planning and establishing priorities.

Working Environment

  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting.
  • Ability to clearly communicate. 
  • Use office equipment, i.e. printers, copiers, fax machines, telephones, calculator.
  • Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, may include/subject to resolution of conflicts.
  • Use of software/computer equipment for extended periods of time.
  • Use critical thinking to make decisions and/or analyze and report data/results of tests conducted.

This position is eligible for Hybrid work.  This is an arrangement where employees spend a minimum of 60% of their regular workweek at their primary ASU work location.
