Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Excellent writing, editing, and oral communications skills are required.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously with positive outcomes.
- Knowledge of marketing principles.
- Administrative support experience to include knowledge of general office operations.
- Ability to troubleshoot situations to determine the best course of action.

- Highly skilled in standard office software and platforms including word processing and spreadsheet use and able to learn a variety of electronic forms, applications, and software suites (Microsoft Teams and Google Suite) for paperless processing.
- Knowledge of the University system to be able to refer students to the appropriate area for assistance. Ability to troubleshoot situations to determine the best course of action.
Typical Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or related field and two years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Ability to interact with students, staff, faculty, and the general public.
- Experience coordinating large projects with multiple parts and deadlines.
- Experience in marketing, technical/informative writing, and proofreading.
- Ability to understand and integrate institutional strategy into modes of communication.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
- Appreciation of visual design as it relates to supporting content messages.
- Ability to set priorities, work in a fast-paced, exciting environment and meet deadlines.
Required Education or Training:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Salary Information:
This is a part-time, (40 hours per pay period), term-funded, 12-month, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package . New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule , Grade 78, based on education and experience.
