Finisher Farm Supervisor

Job Description

Duties: Plan, direct, and coordinate day-to-day farm activities and staff to ensure all daily and weekly production targets are met. Train employees on day-to-day processes and procedures, develop a competent workforce by utilizing hands-on training methods, providing constructive and timely feedback, and offering opportunities for individual growth. Perform audits of the farm to ensure all standard operating procedures are being followed and facilities are in good working condition. Maintain accurate records and reports of animals, personnel, and supplies on the farm. Ensure health and safety of employees and animals at the facility, submit detailed reports, and track feed and ration staging for animals. Manage all controllable costs, including supplies, labor, and medication. Create and manage employee work schedules as applicable. First line Supervisor of up to 8-10 farm hands. 

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering, Veterinary Medicine, Animal Science or Husbandry, or related field, plus two years of related experience. Experience must include at least one year of management duties in a swine farm of at least 30,000 head, and experience following detailed standard operating procedures. Must also have experience training in pulse needleless vaccination; Pork Quality Assurance (PQA). Experience in safety training using Alchemy learning management system or comparable tool. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift up to 100 pounds, and sometimes push and/or move up to 300 pounds. Must be proficient in English reading and writing.
